We Grow NYC began with a simple idea: to teach people how to grow their own.
During the COVID pandemic, what started as a space for fathers to connect and share challenges became a place of healing. Many found peace and purpose through gardening.With guidance from some master gardeners in the group, founder Adam launched We Grow NYC as a nonprofit to empower urban communities with the knowledge and tools to cultivate their own food, herbs, and medicine.
Today, our mission has expanded into schools, workshops, and community spaces across the city. We’re here to share the joy, life skills, and sense of accomplishment that comes from growing your own.

Adam, a father of three and lifelong New Yorker, is an education leader who founded We Grow NYC to empower public school students and advocate for social change through learning.

Project Director
Andra F. Roig, Jr., father of three, is a nonprofit professional with over a decade of experience, committed to uplifting communities through empowerment, creativity, and meaningful connection.

A lifelong gardener and father of two, I embraced the chance to grow cannabis at home and helped create this platform to share my knowledge and inspire others to experience the joy of growing their own plants.
